Seniors

Posted by admin On February - 8 - 2009

I have been a caregiver to both of my parents and I know there is a great number of folks out their who find themselves seeking out “Senior Care services” literally overnight.

Yes, I know it is tough and overwhelming at times.

Our present day seniors citizens, sometimes referred to as “The Greatest Generation” built this country and fought for this country. Now in their golden years, they are looking for a little help in return. Because I was engulfed in this issue while taking care of my mother, It grew into a love for being an advocate for senior citizens and their families who care for them. In fact I hosted a radio show for Seniors so they could get educated on services offered to them. We must take care of and treat our seniors with the Dignity they deserve! This failing economy has got to be a real worry to our “Older and Wiser gang” We must make sure that they get the services they need instead of free prescription drug and health care going to illegal aliens, what a tragedy!

Viva La Seniors!!

One of the measures of a more highly civilized society, is its attitude towards its weaker members. If the poor, the sick, the handicapped, the mentally ill, the helpless are not protected, the society is not as advanced as in a society where they are protected. The more mature the society is, the more there is respect for the dignity and rights of all human beings. The function of the laws of the society, is to protect and provide for all members so that no individual or group of individuals can be victimized by another individual group. Every American has a vital stake in what value system is adopted towards its weak, aged, cripple, it’s helpless intra-uterine members; a vital stake in who chooses life or death.

Do we accept killing a human being because of a temporary, emotional upset? All obstetricians and gynecologists know of many cases where the mother, be her single or married, has spoken of abortion early in the pregnancy and later on, has confessed her gratitude to those who have not performed the abortion. On the other hand, we have all seen women what have been troubled, consumed with guilt and Depression following and because of abortion.

Abortion hurts women!

Self Defense is a Basic Human Right

Posted by admin On February - 7 - 2009

Come on folks. You would think that self defense is a Basic human right! I had the privilege of being on duty as a police dispatcher on Dec 29, 2003. I worked in a suburb that shared the same radio frequency with the Wilmette Police Department. That was the night a gentlemen named Hal Demar was robbed for the 2nd time in 24 hours. The first night the burglar stole the keys and Hal’s car. The second night Hal shot the intruder. You or I would have done the same. But Demar got treated like a criminal for taking the common sense action of protecting his wife, children and private property.

DeMar blasted local officials in a letter published by the Chicago Sun-Times: “Until you are shocked by a piercing alarm in the middle of the night and met in your kitchen by a masked invader as your children shudder in their beds, until you confront that very real nightmare, please don’t suggest that some village trustee knows better and he/she can effectively task the police to protect your family from the miscreants that this society has produced.”

As a woman, I know a gun is a great equalizer. Women in other states have the right and luxury of having “Conceal and Carry.” But not in Illinois. Women here are punished for living here by being denied their constitutional right to defend themselves.
